AUTHOR VISITS

LKS has had the pleasure of welcoming 3 authors to our school in the past few weeks.
In October, Andrew Larsen visited with the Kindergarten to Grade 3 students. He shared with us 2 of his books - Bella and the Bunny and The Imaginary Garden. It was a special day for Mr. Larsen since he had just found out that The Imaginary Garden was included on the Blue Spruce list for this year.
On November 10th, Robert Paul Weston visited with the Grade 7 and 8 classes. His talk about the 'true' Grimm fairy tales had the students hooked for the full hour! Mr. Weston won the Silver Birch award last year for his book Zor Ga Ma Zoo and now there is great demand for his new book, Dust City.
Yesterday, CBC sportscaster, author and illustrator Kevin Sylvester came in to talk with our Grade 4, 5 and 6 classes. His talents kept all captivated as he talked about the importance of PERSEVERANCE. All of us left with smiles on our faces and inspiration in our hearts!

Thank you to the Parents' Literacy Committee for sponsoring these events.
